I am interested in leveraging insights from cognitive and quantitative psychology to understand complex behaviors and cognitive processes. I am especially interested in understanding the importance of individual differences in the ability to control attention and how these interface with other abilities and traits, such as reasoning, risk taking, working memory, processing speed, and multitasking. I'm also interested in using insights from basic research on cognition to solve applied problems, including equitable selection and testing. I mentor students in the Department of Psychological Science at Kennesaw University, where I aim to help students conduct the best science possible. Outside of teaching, research, and mentoring, I do a lot of gardening, reading, and taking care of pets.
